Freda Ayisi has signed for Hashtag United in a groundbreaking move following her exit from Charlton Athletic over the summer. She moved to the ambitious tier 3 side following contract negotiations with the Essex club. Hashtag, who were close to promotion last season confirmed their marquee summer signing, advertising their statement of intent in the ongoing search for Championship football.

The Ghanaian, famed for her enormous social media following and deft touch started her professional career at Arsenal before moving to Birmingham, Leicester and Lewes before joining Charlton in 2022.

Hashtag, whose long term objectives include status in the Women’s Super League in years to come, have demonstrated their enormous progress under the stewardship of entrepreneur Spencer Owen (the clubs CEO) who played a key role in persuading Freda to join the project over the coming season following contract negotiations with us late on in the window.

Fam wishes Freda well in the season ahead
