Neil began his career in 2000 at Blackburn Rovers and later on played for the likes of Colchester United, Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Bolton Wanderers, Bury Town,Tranmere Rovers and Macclesfield Town. He played 25 times for Guyana International team, in which he scored an impressive 11 goals.
In 2022, Neil became Macclesfield FC Manager in which he won the Northern Premier League Division One West. Neil left at the end of the season to become assistant manager at Tranmere Rovers, where he enjoyed a successful 2023 season.
His son Jayden Danns looks to be following his dad footsteps and in 2023 he made his Liverpool first team debut in the 2023 EFL Trophy. In 2024, he made his Premier League debut against Luton Town, and he scored his first and second goals for Liverpool in the FA Cup in a 3–0 home victory against Southampton.
Neil has a wealth of knowledge of the EFL and lower football league, and has previously worked with BT Sport, Sky Sports, BBC5 Live, TalkSPORT and BBC covering various games as pundit and co-commentary.
Neil also has a strong passion for music and in his spare time he produces his own tracks and visuals.
